Inviting Members
Batida supports two methods for adding people to your organization: direct email invites and shareable invite links. Both methods let you assign a role at the time of invitation.
Method 1 -- Email Invite
Navigate to Settings > Members.
Click Invite Members.
Enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas.
Select the role for the invited members:
viewer - Read-only access to incidents and schedules responder - Can acknowledge, update, and resolve incidents admin - Can manage members, schedules, and org settingsOptionally add a personal message.
Click Send Invites.
Invited members receive an email with a link to join your organization. They must create a Batida account (or sign in with an existing one) to accept.
TIP
You can invite multiple people at once with different roles. Enter all emails first, then adjust the role dropdown per entry before sending.
Method 2 -- Invite Link
- Navigate to Settings > Members.
- Click Invite Link.
- Select the default role for anyone who uses the link.
- Click Generate Link.
- Copy the link and share it with your team via Slack, email, or internal documentation.
Invite links can be revoked at any time from the same page. When you revoke a link, no new members can join using it, but anyone who already accepted remains in the org.
WARNING
Invite links are accessible to anyone who has the URL. Treat them like a shared password. Use email invites for sensitive roles like admin.
Pending Invitations
All sent invitations appear in the Members page under the Pending tab. From there you can:
- Resend an invite if the recipient didn't receive the email
- Revoke an invite to cancel it before it's accepted
- Change role to upgrade or downgrade the invited member's access level
Pending invitations expire after 7 days by default. You can resend the invite to issue a new link.
Accepted Members
Once a member accepts the invite, they appear in the Active tab of the Members page. As an admin or owner, you can:
- Change their role at any time
- Remove them from the organization
- View their activity log (incidents acknowledged, notes added, etc.)
Role Assignment Guidelines
When deciding which role to assign, consider these guidelines:
| Role | Best For |
|---|---|
viewer | Engineering managers, stakeholders, QA leads who need visibility but don't respond to incidents |
responder | Developers and SREs who are part of on-call rotations |
admin | Team leads, SRE managers who manage schedules and org configuration |
For a full breakdown of what each role can do, see Roles and Permissions.
Bulk Operations
If you need to invite a large team, you can use the invite link method or contact your account manager for CSV-based bulk import support.
