Team playbooks

Team playbooks are playbooks assigned to a specific team. When an incident is declared, Batida suggests playbooks from the teams involved in the response, ensuring that responders see only the procedures relevant to their role.

Why assign playbooks to teams

In large organizations, different teams handle different aspects of an incident. The security team follows a different procedure than the infrastructure team. Team playbooks ensure that:

  • Each team has a clear, focused playbook for their responsibilities.
  • Responders are not overwhelmed by procedures that do not apply to them.
  • Playbook suggestions are relevant to the incident context.

Assigning a playbook to a team

  1. Open the playbook you want to assign.
  2. In the Settings section, select the target team from the dropdown.
  3. Save the playbook.

A playbook can be assigned to multiple teams if needed. When multiple teams are involved in an incident, Batida shows each team their relevant playbooks.

Playbook suggestions during incidents

When an incident is declared:

  1. Batida checks the incident type and the assigned teams.
  2. It matches the incident type to playbooks assigned to those teams.
  3. Relevant playbooks are shown in the incident page sidebar.
  4. The Commander selects which playbooks to activate.

TIP

Assign playbooks at the team level even if your organization is small. As your team grows, having team-level organization in place prevents confusion.

Managing team assignments

Organization administrators can manage team assignments from Settings > Teams:

  • Create teams -- define teams and add members.
  • Assign playbooks -- link playbooks to teams.
  • Review assignments -- see all playbooks assigned to each team.
